Appointment of new Programme Manager at KAZA Secretariat

Discover the Kavango Zambezi - KAZA Tourism, Conservation, Safaris area across 5 countries of Angola, Bostwana, Namibia, Zambia and ZimbabweSecretariat is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Netsai Bollmann as Programme Manager effective as of 1 April 2021.

Ms. Bollmann holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree with a specialisation in Sustainable Business from the University of Southern Queensland in Australia. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialisation in Law from London Metropolitan University (formerly known as the University of North London).

Ms. Bollmann has 14 years of professional experience working in the field of sustainable development in the Southern African region. Over a decade of this experience has been thematically focused on transboundary supply and demand-side sustainable tourism development.

Ms. Bollmann has worked for organisations including the Hillside Dams Conservancy Trust (Zimbabwe), ResourceAfrica (South Africa), Fair Trade Tourism (South Africa), and as Team Leader and Senior Tourism Expert for the tourism component of a partnership programme between the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) as a full time and long-term AFC/Gopa consultant (Gaborone, Botswana).

Highlights of her skills and technical competencies include:

  • Solid fundraising, programme leadership and project management experience
  • Extensive experience in partnership development with civil society, and public and private sector organisations with a vested interest in Southern African sustainable tourism development including but not limited to: the Regional Tourism Organisation of Southern Africa (RETOSA), SADC Secretariat (Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Directorate), various SADC Transfrontier Conservation Area Structures (including  Great Limpopo, KAZA, Lubombo, Maloti Drakensberg TFCAs and the Ai/Ais-Richtersveld Transfrontier Park), Ministries responsible for Tourism and National Tourism Organizations across Southern Africa, national parks agencies, and a number of the Southern African region’s leading private sector national tourism associations.
  • Solid programme development.
  • Solid programme and project conceptualization, development, implementation, management and reporting (narrative and financial).
  • Strong knowledge of the Southern African region gained during 14 years of professional work.
  • Extensive experience working with development cooperation including GIZ, UNEP, UN GEF, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the ILO, and EU as well as a number of South African government funds.
