KAZA TFCA appoints a new Executive Director

KAZA TFCA Partner States are happy to announce the appointment of the Dr Nyambe Nyambe as the Executive Director of the KAZA TFCA Secretariat as from 16 April 2018.


Dr Nyambe Nyambe, has more than 20 years’ experience of applied project and programme work in the conservation sector. His qualifications are Bachelor of Social Science (University of Zambia); Masters – Environment and Development (University of Natal) and PhD, University of KwaZulu Natal. He started his career in the mid-1990s as a Wetlands Officer and later as a Community Wellbeing Specialist under IUCN in the Barotse floodplains, Zambia. He also served as Programme Director (Environment & Development) of the Centre for Environment & Development, University of KwaZulu Natal and Project Executant of the Zambezi-Chobe Fisheries Project, Namibia Nature Foundation. He joined WWF Zambia in 2008 as Wetlands Officer and subsequently rose to positions of Project Coordinator, Conservation Manager and Country Director. His areas of expertise include programming (development and implementation), monitoring and evaluation, integrated natural resource planning and management, and community-based natural resource management. In his role as WWF Zambia’s Country Director, he spearheaded strategy development and implementation including programme design for partnerships, water stewardship, wetlands management, environmental flows and climate change adaptation among other priority areas.
